Student Impact Initiative exists to provide youth - and those who work with youth - events, training and resources that promote good decisions.
Common sense as well as statistics demonstrate that too many students are making poor choices. According to a report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, among high school students nationwide:
20% have been bullied on school property
47% have had sexual intercourse at least once, and 34% are actively having sex
66% have consumed alcohol
41% have used marijuana
18% have taken prescription drugs without a doctor’s prescription
22% were offered, sold, or given an illegal drug by someone on school property
15% of all deaths among youth and young adults (10-24 yrs) are suicides
SII believes that students can avoid becoming a negative statistic, and can set themselves up for success simply by making good choices. SII is committed to helping those who want to make a difference in the lives of students.
